4th Quarter Electronic Magazine
mSoft October 2006 Newsletter - Year End Discounts, VisionClip Upgrade Offer For Existing Customers, - and No, We Didn't Forget the Trivia Contest!

We're proud that our MusicCue system has been chosen to be featured in this month's Audio Media magazine! You can read it online here, it begins on page 58!

Year End "We Pass the Savings On To You" Discounts:

Due to the volume of RAID storage that we buy we have secured some really great prices on all the orders we place though to the end of the year. If any of you have felt an mSoft system has been out of reach financially in the past, contact us now for DRAMATIC (can you say "too low to print"?) discounts from the prices you have been quoted in the past. And if you're an existing customer and your system needs to be expanded with a few more TB - this is your perfect chance, the discounts apply to RAID orders only as well, not just new systems. Here's a special MusicCue year end upgrade package for existing customers:

  1. Existing clients only
  2. 3 terabyte storage RAID5
  3. 36 months service commitment
  4. $450 per month (regular price $900 per month - that's 1/2 off!)

Call Doug Perkins at (800) 489-9314/(818) 716-7081 or e-mail doug@msoftinc.com for an updated quote.

VisionClip Video Management Upgrade For Existing Customers:

VisionClip is our video asset management system that will allow you to manage your stock image libraries and/or your own video clips. It allows you to audition a compressed version and transfer the full quality video file to your workstation in whatever format it is stored - SD or HD. Proxy files are created as well as any desired quality production version of the digitized video as it is being ingested into VisionClip automatically, and thumbnail "automatic storyboard" images for searching can also be created at any desired time interval. The VisionClip software can live on the same server that your existing mSoft audio management system is on, giving you a single powerful library of all your media assets for all of your video, music, sound effects, voice over talent, logos, even text files.

We currently have an overstock of fiber - SATA RAID5 storage, and we are offering the following smokin' deal "until they are gone" only to our existing customers that want to add video management to their existing mSoft audio servers:

VisionClip Upgrade Special:

  1. Available to existing clients only
  2. Free upgrade to the VisionClip software ($3,000 value)
  3. 5 terabyte storage of 2G Fiber - SATA RAID5
  4. A fiber HBA Host fiber card
  5. 36 months minimum rental commitment
  6. $695 per month additional to your contract (regular price: $1,500 per mo.)

Call Doug Perkins at (800) 489-9314/(818) 716-7081 or e-mail doug@msoftinc.com for an updated quote.

LAST NEWSLETTER'S TRIVIA ANSWERS

Congratulations to Paul Grosso of JPL Productions in Harrisburg PA for answering the questions correctly first - he received a Sound Ideas XV series SFX library from our friends at Sound Ideas in Richmond Hill, Ontario Canada. Here are the correct answers:

  1. What Go-Gos tune was used to sell Papa John's Pizza?
    1. Head Over Heels
    2. We Got The Beat
    3. Get Up And Go
Answer: "We got the Beat" was used in their Perfect Pans Meats Pizza ads - of course, they turned it into "We got the meat" - this was an easy one intended to give you one that would be easy to guess on.
  2. What product did Kraft use the song "Some Kind Of Wonderful" to promote?
    1. Whipped Cream
    2. Cheese
    3. Mayonnaise
    4. Salad Dressing
Answer: Their flip top big mouth Mayonnaise container, which was supposedly easier to get mayonnaise out of.. which makes sense, but doesn't seem that "wonderful".
  3. What major electronics store used the song "Just What I Needed" by the cars in one of their ads?
    1. Best Buy
    2. Fry's
    3. Radio Shack
    4. Circuit City
Answer: Circuit City, who undoubtedly has lots of stuff we all "want" but may not actually "need" ;-) Circuit City was originally opened as "Ward's" in 1949 by Samuel Wurtzel.

This month's trivia contest winner gets an olive green, really cool and very soft mSoft t-shirt just like the one you saw us all sporting in last newsletter's NAB pictures:

Here are the questions, you just need to be the first to get three right to win:

  1. There are lyrics to the original "Star Trek" theme - true or false?
  2. The Refreshments performed the theme to "Friends" - true or false?
  3. Kelsy Grammer wrote the theme song to "Frasier", the popular TV series he starred in - true or false?
  4. What is the name of the singer/songwriter that not only performed the theme but also made frequent appearances on the "Ally McBeal" show?
  5. What 70's singer / songwriter wrote the theme to "The Golden Years"?
Lastly...

We want to congratulate our CEO Amnon Sarig for earning his 2nd degree (DAN2) Black Belt in karate - but don't worry, he doesn't handle collections here... although...;-)
